Moving From Dubai to Abu Dhabi – Our Experience
My husband James and I had lived in Mover Dubai Abu Dhabi for 5 years after moving there from London for his job with an oil and gas company. As excited as we were for James’ new job, moving anywhere after being settled for so long does come with its challenges. Once James accepted the new job, our first task was figuring out the logistics of the move. We have two cats, Milo and Coco, and were also in the middle of renovating our Dubai apartment. Moving Day Drama

Thankfully no one was hurt but it caused a 4 hour delay while they sorted a replacement tire. We were panicking about missing our rental truck handover time in Abu Dhabi. To our relief, the rental company understood and graciously extended our booking by a few hours.
The movers managed to arrive in Abu Mover Dubai Abu Dhabi only 2 hours behind schedule thanks to working as fast as possible to catch up time. It was certainly more stress than we anticipated for moving day!
Temporary Accommodation
Our new home in Abu Dhabi wouldn’t be ready for another 2 weeks as it needed some renovations. We booked an affordable Airbnb apartment for the interim period, with just our Suitcases of essentials.
It felt strange living out of a suitcase in our new city. To keep busy we spent days exploring new neigh hoods, having picnics in the parks with our cats in their carriers and Mover Dubai Abu Dhabi any utility connections.
Finally Moving Into Our New Home

Navigating a New City
Abu Dhabi is laid out quite differently than Dubai, with many more residential areas separated by main roads. It took us a while to learn the streets and best routes to places like James’ new office or the mall.
Thankfully navigation apps made it easy when we did get lost! We also relied on online Mover Dubai Abu Dhabi and friends recommendations to discover new favorite parks, restaurants and family activities in our new neighborhood.
